UNIQUE and RARE
Hand crafted from copper wire and accented with a fall palette of natural precious and semi precious gemstones, these unique dangle drop earrings bring warmth and color to your day and a touch of fun style to your outfit.
With three chains of stones on each earring, they feature a collector's Japanese Super Rainbow Garnet stone from the Kohse Mine in Nara, Japan. These unique garnets have an iridescent surface that gives off a shine in the sunlight, with orange topaz, hessonite garnet, raw ruby, peridot and agate accents to add color, depth and personality.
The Kohse Mine garnet deposit was discovered in 2002, one of the few locations on earth where this andradite garnet is found. Due to enthusiastic collectors from all over the country and world digging out the garnets, the mine was shut down and collectors will now be arrested for taking stones from the site.
I was lucky enough to meet a woman who had collected several jars of garnets, and when she heard I made jewelry, gifted me with a jar for my studio.
The Super Rainbow Garnet is a unique specimen with flat surfaces and growths, giving off a rainbow shine when the light hits it at different angles. Difficult to shape and polish for jewelry use, I kept them simple with cleaning and a hole drilled through the center.
Each pair of these handmade earrings will turn out slightly different, as with nature herself. Made upon order and take about 1-2 weeks to complete.
